So for my site I have my maintenance page. I explain the steps to do some things for XP and Vista/7, but I don't have Windows 8, so I need someone else to give me the steps to:

    1. Set Windows Update to automatic.

    2. Disable System Restore.

    3. Create a system image using Windows.

    4. Access the command line and run the sfc /scannow command.

    Thank you!

I know you will probably want something more specific but short answer is that aside from the lack of a start menu none of those things you listed have changed.

just keep in mind that there are 2 versions of Windows Updates: the usual desktop version and the Metro version.

i just go to the Control Panel and search from there to use the desktop versions of programs.
if you search from the Metro start, it gives you the Metro version.

which can be confusing at first...
