Need dll file for fsdump

Tech support asked me to use fsdump to create a metadata.bin file, but I was provided only fsdump and not ufsd.dll. Is there an easy way to get a copy of ufsd.dll quickly?

I have Backup & Recovery Suite 10, but I am using the WinPE boot disk. I do not have B&R 10 installed on my computer because I am running Vista under BootCamp and B&R 10 does not work from a BootCamp Vista partition. I do not see the ufsd.dll file on the boot disk, so I cannot simply copy it from there.

You might have ve_ufsd.dll on the boot disc.

I don't see any such file. All the Paragon stuff appears to be packed inside one file called boot.wim. I have no idea how to unpack that and find the dll file if it is there. Any idea how to unpack a .wim file?

Yes , I mount wims all the time.

On 7 use imagex or dism, on older os , use imagex.

To save you the trouble View attachment ve_ufsd.zip.txt

Remove the .txt extension then unzip it.

Thanks. Unfortunately, fsdump is still not doing the trick.

This is what I'm seeing with fsdump:

    C:\fsdump>fsdump \\?\Volume{2b6e6d90-6562-11e0-89e6-002241d21a8d} > c:\fsdump\volume_metadata.bin
Can't get sector size of "\\?\Volume{2b6e6d90-6562-11e0-89e6 002241d21a8d}". Use default 512 bytes
    Error reading sector 0x0, count 0x8, retval=4294967295, error=13
    Can't read file

I guess I'm going to have to wait for Paragon to get back to me with a copy of ufsd.dll or further instructions. Thanks again.

Is there something wrong with the copy of ufsd I posted above?

    It is from B&R10

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it.

Tech support sent me a zip file and told me to extract "ufsd.dll," not "ve_ufsd.dll," but that file was not in the zip file. I suspect that was inadvertent. The file in question may have been intended for my specific issue. Not sure. The turnaround is always several days, given big time zone differences.

Thanks again for sending me the file.:thumb:

Universal File Sytem Driver - might be a different version.

I am curious what it is - and what they are asking you to do with it.

    Have you seen
