    need some advice

ive had it with outpost2, for one simple reason, it turns off/disables the 'prevent applications from stealing focus'-setting in tweakui. and im sick of this

what would u recommend as a replacement?
    i need
advanced rule creation (like op2 has)
    stealth(like op2 has)

preferably activex blocking/allowing for individual sites(like op2 has)

tahoma, sorry to hear Outpost is not working
    out for you!!
If it can't be tweaked for you and is that
frustrating. I would suggest Sygate Firewall
    http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_pro.htm
Or maybe another good one would be Tiny Firewall
    http://www.tinysoftware.com/home2/tiny2?s=1172059782715613646A0&offer=standard&pg=tpf5_home
Good luck to you and if you ever decide to change your mind, stop by and we can see what we can do... :)

    Hi,

I would suggest giving look'n'stop a try... Very good firewall with very small footprint using little system resources.... I have tried many different firewalls, but always come back to look'n'stop....

More info here http://www.wilderssecurity.info/ and here http://www.looknstop.com/.

    Regards,
    Kent

:cool:ruled based fire walls blah blah blah

im doing well with my updated zap with web filtering and my 1 spechial rule base thx to lowater mark

only way you can do better is a hardware fire wall baby so if you got the cash go that way

but i think all this advance rulebase is over kill

inless you doing stuff you shouldnt be doing then i can see why being so parynoyed

but if you just surfing why go rule based im outa

    Hi tahoma

If you are looking for something that has all those features in one, your options may be limited. For active content filtering and rules based/advanced rules ZAPro and NIS/NPF come to mind.

The alternative is using a rule based firewall along with a good proxy program.

    Regards,

    CrazyM

I've always liked Sygate ! Still like it.
But I use ZAP4. Have used ZAP for a while. I really like the privacy features it has.

Sygate or ZA, you can't go wrong. Easy setup and easy configuration.

    regards,
    bill :)
