After I received the 8.0.0.15 update, the PC have started to freeze just like that. It seems that it mostly happens while the browser is loading site content. It happened once while Wilders was loading for example, even though there's not much to load here. And the freeze is usually between 10-30 Seconds. I use 32-bit XP Home SP3 Fully updated. And I browse with Safari 5.0.5. I don't use any other security software in real-time.
Could you try rebooting with the update applied now and see if it improves post-reboot? In either case, could you send a scan log to report@prevxresearch.com so that we can take a look? Thanks!
I had already rebooted one time, I always do that if I see that a new version has been "installed" But I rebooted again, though the freezing issue is still there. Send a scan log? Sure I can if you can tell me how to do that? Since that is something I have never needed to do before.
Ok I figured out how to save the scan log. Though I took a look inside the log and it included some "sensitive" data from some time ago that I had to delete. Though I didn't delete anything from the file scan results. And I didn't delete anything after that I got updated to 8.0.0.15 . And even I can see the problem at the bottom of the log, but why it happens is up to you guys to figure out Edit: The scan log is now sent.
I have also had my PC freeze on two or three occasions, since the update. I didn't connect the dots, so to speak. As SweX reports, the freeze lasts 10 - 30 seconds. Will also send a scanlog
Could you make a copy of your C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\WRData\ folder and then try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if this fixes the issue? I'm looking to find out if it is something unique to the update or something persistent on your system at the moment. Thank you!
Just to test overangry... Does it freeze if you visit this page. ? http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=cltesetautogkgw.jpg The freeze happen when I try to close the "congratulations" popup by clicking the red cross in the upper right corner of the window.
I encountered no freeze following your instructions. I'm starting to think it may be an issue using chrome. I have only encountered freezing on two occasions, since reporting. Though it seems to be running smooth at the moment.
Thanks for testing Then perhaps we are making some progress because I am only getting the freezes while using Safari 5.0.5 NOT WITH IE8 on the test link I gave you, or any other site I have visited. Safari is based on Webkit and Chrome is based on Webkit. So maybe Webkit is the problem if it only happens in Webkit based browsers. IDK wich version of IE you got but have you had any freezes at all while using IE? Because I have not.
