MS Intellimouse instead of Logitech mouse : question

Hi, it's me, FanJ.

At the moment I'm at a friend.
Machine : XP Home, Dutch.
Her PC came installed with a Logitech mouse, but she would like to use her MS Intellimouse which she used at her old PC.

My question:
What would be the best thing to do:
Try to uninstall the Logitech mouse before installing the MS Intellimouse?

PS: We found the floppy with the MS Intellimouse driver.

I think you can just unplug the logitech mouse and plug in the microsoft intellimouse straight away. You may need the CDs or floppy disks to install the drivers first.

I think Nadirah is correct. The only things that will change with the addition are the mouse protocol and mouse device.
If you don't notice an immediate response, just check the settings that control the mouse. You're just adding a device,
deactivate the other.

Yep, I shut down the PC, unplugged the Logitech mouse and plugged in the MS Intellimouse, started up the PC, and sofar all seems to be OK.
I guess she doesn't want the configuration of all the mouse-buttons but that she only wanted the older one because it is easier on your hand.

If your friend wants to configure it more (for the intellimouse explorer for example), she can get the latest IntelliPoint software here
