MS EMET - Can Someone Explain?

    Hi Guys

    I noticed from a lot of your sigs that MS EMET is mentioned.

    So I went to Google to see what it was all about.

    To be honest, I have got a clue what this program does / is for?

    Who is it aimed at? Home or business users?

    Some of the terms in the user guide such as "heapspray" etc seem daunting.

    So can someone explain EMET in laymans terms?

    Hi Guys

    OK there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

    OK so known programs that get exploited such as browsers, jave, adobe, office are hardened against any changes / exploits.

    So even if the program is outdated therefore insecure, EMET will protect it from damage.

    Is that correct?

    Somewhat. EMET isn't perfect, and it's always best to update your entire system.

    I think EMET is nicely summed up here
    In short, without going into specific details, certain vulnerabilities are targeted with EMET. One might as well make use of it.
