i dont want that the stupid "ms agent" is being loaded when TDS starts. how can i stop this?
Go to TDS -> Configuration -> Startup an there uncheck "Greet User With Speech"
i have done it, but the problem is not solved.
It doesn't load here, and I use the greetings. I don't have MS Agent on my machine anymore. When I had it I could pick from many voices, now I am back to just the one. I wish there was a Darth Vader voice.
That's right, unchecking it is a way for not loading and not being greeted. It's part of MS Office as well, and in XP it's integrated in the whole OS i was told (i don't run XP myself, so i can't check).
I was happy to discover the possibilities in TDS and i used it for learning some scripting and made desktop helpers started with TDS, and make TDS partly voice controlled with the MSAgent technology. Like opening the Helpfile, Notepad, send email, open programs, play music, start a slide show, whatever i put in them.
So with some more scripting you can transform them into helpers to load the right emulators and other SS3 scripts for you or start your virus scanner, remote controller, etc. As it still is a security tool in the first place.
But you can also use it as your jukebox
Yep! not to mention as a coke machine and pizza ordering system as well as dialer, so you can dial up the internet connection or start TDS itself, opening the helpfile, all voice controlled.
I'm very sure this is the only trojan defence system with so many attractive possibilities, besides being the best in its kind, and voice control.
Like Wayne always says: "only limited by your imagination."
One thing: if you want to stop the agentsvr, you can kill the process in TDS console | System analyses | Process list and click the agentsvr process (and / any other process you want to kill). Only if you need it in other programs you might be lucky it is called and started, but in many cases it seems to need a reboot to start it with all the necessary windows processes.
For resources it's hardly necessary though as it does not take much as long as there is no agent active.
