    Hello,

I am wondering how I can minimize Mozilla Thunderbird to the system tray so I can get an alert when I have new mail and just to have the program open....

    Thank you so much,

    Gracie :)

Just curious, is thunderbird safe to use? I figured it is, but interested to find out.

Well, you can use Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, IncrediMail and other mail software, but I prefer Thunderbird :)

I think it is the safest out of all the E-Mail clients.

    Hi Kye-U :)

I actually looked at IncrediMail but I read reviews on Download.com that it leaves behind alot of entries and so forth.... used Outlook and Outlook express and they were ok.. but I really like the feel of Thunderbird :D

Nooo lol :(, it says it won't work the version I have. It is the latest of Thunderbird, is there any other program known to be able to have the feature of minimizing to system tray? and also, is there a way I can have it check for new mail say every 5 minutes?

    Thank you everyone,

    Gracie

Yes, it's a very good email-client that have all the features needed for free :)
    Much better than Outlook...

    http://minimizetotray.mozdev.org/installation.html

Try the link under: Latest version for trunk/nightly builds of Firefox (including Deer Park), Thunderbird (including 1.1 alpha), Seamonkey, and Sunbird

I find IncrediMail bloated; with useless background images, smilies, etc...

:D I thought so too! I also found out how Thunderbird should check for mail every so many minutes, I put 1 minute.

Thanks everyone again for your kind help.
