again wrong - the /beta/ path is discontinued. read again: they wrote "beta", not "versions". versions means finals in history.

FIrefox Nightly can now use it's own DNS resolver that supports DNS-over-HTTPS instead of the systems DNS resolver: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1434852
Currently do DNS lookups occur in the open unless you use something like DNSCrypt? This Firefox feature sounds like a good thing which will hopefully become available in the stable release down the road.
Yes, normal DNS is insecure. You need either DNSCrypt or DNS-over-HTTPS. DNSSEC checks authenticity but does not encrypt the traffic.
It's one of the six ways to encrypt DNS currently. It's at draft stage still but most probably will become standard (because easy to implement). Only real standards right now are the RFC 7858 (DNS-over-TLS) that you mentioned and RFC 8094 (DNS-over DTLS, no implementation exists) https://www.slideshare.net/MenandMice/how-to-send-dns-over-anything-encrypted EDIT: DNS over Tor (page 31): bad idea.
What do you think of this one? https://simplednscrypt.org/ http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/simple_dnscrypt.html
Mozilla removes individual cookie management in Firefox 60 February 26, 2018 https://www.ghacks.net/2018/02/26/mozilla-removes-individual-cookie-management-in-firefox-60/
wth are they stupid? no native cookie control in firefox? [insert list of names here] i have in mind, that mozilla plans to merge all website-data in one box (webappstore), so this might be the beginning.
It's an unfortunate decision. However, as the gHacks article already said, there are enough add-ons which you can use instead. Right now, I'm not using any of those cookie managers. Rather, I'm using Temporay Containers in combination with browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs=true and First-Party Isolation (privacy.firstparty.isolate=true). This means that every bookmark is opened in its own tab and, hence, in its own temporary container which is deleted after some minutes, and additionally First-Party Isolation is applied. This makes any cookie manager dispensable, IMHO.

Sorry for the late reply, I had forgotten about it. I have never used it so I can't comment on it. I used the old OpenDNS GUI version first and after that the DNSCrypt proxy.
I have been using Simple DnsCrypt for a while now and like it a lot. It's now getting regular updates and has a good number or resolvers. It also gets me faster browsing.
