The other important new feature is the third-party cookie blocking of Enhanced Tracking Protection - strict mode.

Indeed, Enhanced Tracking Protection Strict mode doesn't say "blocks third-party cookie access", but it says "Cross-site cookies".
This is the same as it was before.
Also, if cross-site cookie access is blocked, I would say third-party cookie access is blocked.
So, to me, it is not clear what changed.

The same applies to ETP Custom mode, where there is the option to block "All cross-site cookies". In the past, it said "third-party cookies", but that changed some time ago.

Others may know more about Firefox ESR and Windows 7. I use Firefox 132 on Kubuntu.

The Firefox ESR System Requirements page shows Windows 7 as supported Operating Systems for Firefox ESR 115.17.0.

If the update doesn't download and install the way it should, perhaps you can manually select, download, and install the latest version. (Select Platform, Language, and Download Now.)

 

Same here. I am running FF 131.03 and third-party cookie access is already blocked under strict ETP, and it has been like this for a while now. I am not sure what was changed in FF 132 in this regards, and there is no information available on it. If someone does figure this out please do let us know.

The article that JRViejo quoted, says Firefox 115 ESR is available for Windows 7 until March 2025.

Did you notice my reply, and my suggestion in the last line?
You can download from the Firefox ESR page.

 

It does not appear that:

cross-site cookie = third-party cookie

because if you test with the previous setting (in Italian it is called “normal” maybe in English = basic?) third-party cookies are allowed.

P.S.

They should change the instructions in the “Normal” setting.
Or in the “Strict” and “Custom” setting.

In English, the basic mode for Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection is called "Standard".

And you may be right.
While Firefox ETP Standard mode says to block cross-site cookies, with Standard mode enabled, the "Are Third-Party Cookies enabled?" test says "Yes".

I had no problem on Win 7 Pro 64-bit.
I manually downloaded version 115.17.0 : Firefox Setup 115.17.0esr.exe
Then I upgraded: I installed it over the top of version 115.16.1

Follow the advices already given by Stupendous Man and JR !
