    RC1 (zipped) is ready.

anyhow the wave about malware messages is rising fast, more and more users use adwcleaner and get shocked.

most "infection" is lavasoft webcompanion - again. its distributed with online-setups - beware of the "Next" Button in online setups, it could be a trap ("Accept"), look left side for "Decline" (or similar").

next most current the usual adware like craccoon, cookie-aq, chip installer, different driver updater and more.

No movement; will have to wait and see. :doubt:

Edit: if you look at all the 125.0.3 release notes Bug links, firefox-esr115 is labeled Unaffected, so it looks like no dot release.

BTW, I've found out something strange. I've tried to block Firefox from checking for updates, but even if it can't connect out to certain servers, it's still capable to nag me about updates, how is this possible?

Most likely whatever method you are using is not completely blocking the update process. I use the method I described in the following post, and it completely disables all Firefox update related functionality.

OK thanks, I have applied this tweak, let's see if this solves it. The weird thing is that I monitored Firefox to which hosts it connects via SpyShelter Firewall, and even when it doesn't connect to any host, it still shows me the annoying pop up related to newer versions. So I'm not sure if this is some standard message or that it somehow bypasses the firewall, which would be a serious security problem of course.

    Thanks JR!

    I'm curious about https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2024-22/
    Scrolling down there, there is:
CVE-2024-4777: Memory safety bugs fixed in Firefox 126, Firefox ESR 115.11, and Thunderbird 115.11

    1.
Is Thunderbird 115.11 (ESR) stable already released?

    2.
Does this link there work for you:
For me that link doesn't work at the moment.
I get some message "Zarro Boogs found."

    Am I misunderstanding now?

Jan, yes, I'm running it since I posted the release above, in my morning.

No, seems to be something wrong with the link. And entering the individual bug numbers, I get an access denied page.

    Hi JR,
As far as I can tell it is not yet available at https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/
You still get there Thunderbird Setup 115.10.2.exe
And the release notes still mention Version 115.10.2 at https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/releases/
Of course that all could be very well changed tomorrow, but I'm waiting awhile.

Yes, sorry Jan, because you asked in a Firefox thread, I thought you were talking about Firefox ESR. Just realized that it was Thunderbird with your links, and yes, it's not available yet. Sorry for my misunderstanding.
