Move system to bigger HD on same Computer?

Do I need to use the sysprep tool, or can I use a standard image if :

1. I need to restore an image of my XP system Hard Drive onto a new Hard Disk of the same size on the same notebook computer. (ie if my system hard drive has failed)?

2. I need to restore an image of my XP system Hard Drive onto a new bigger Hard Disk, on the same notebook computer. (ie my system hard drive has failed or I want to use a bigger HD)?

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

If you want to use the new hard drive on the same system you should not use Microsoft System Preparation Too. If you want to migrate it to different hardware, you should first prepare Windows using Microsoft System Preparation Tool (sysprep).
