Yes, i'm sure many people would never even bother to check their computers, much less clean the computers of all the junk. It would be those people who know nothing about computer security at all who would mainly do this.

If people could keep their computer in perspective with the rest of their life, the internet would be a much better place.

No doubt because it is always the man's job to try to fix a broken computer. But behind all the troubles is always a women.

Yes, I wonder how many people are walking around here thinking that because they run outpost, KAV,NOD, TDS-3, Spybot, adaware, Spysweeper, etc, they don't have spyware running on their computer lol...

I've helped few people clearing up the nasties from their systems after they told me they experienced something weird.

So far my highest record (theirs really) was to clean up 459 Critical Items from one guy using Ad-aware SE. The funny bit was he told me he had the latest AV (not exactly) ...

On average I get about 10 - 20 malwares when I asked them to scan using Ad-aware SE and those are the Standard ones such as Alexa data miner.
Others nastier ones are LOP, CWS, Browser Hijack, Worm.

So I am not surprised if people are unaware of PC infections.

    :D

P/s: Yes, I agree even with all those defensive softwares we are not immune to attack ...
