I have added the Cloud as backup, but everything loaded in a TrueCrypt container, with a strong password and key file (but keyfile stored on my NAS)

I have a pretty intense backup scheme I am just starting to use as I lost some data recently.

    • Back up all files to an encrypted external hard-drive
    • Backup Files again to an Encrypted CD/DVD
    • Repeat 2 more times each
    • Store the second copies off site (safety deposit box/Friends house)
    • Store small data in the cloud in Truecrypt volumes.

I have a minimum of 2 backups. One on site, one off site. Photos and small documents are stored in my Google Drive account in a TC Volume. The 100GB storage is only $4/month so I jumped on it just for this reason.

DVDs are "archive" grade. Hard Drives that I keep on site are these ones: https://iosafe.com/products-soloG3-overview

Having almost lost a few GB (around 20GB) of data makes you paranoid. o_O

How reliable are those archival grade DVDs ?
I've been tempted by those, could make 2 copies for the price of 1 years cloud hosting, which is my other option for making off site backups.

    Cheers, Nick
