Today i think i have found what my personal most annoying thing in the world is. As last week i placed an order throgh amazon.co.uk marketplace for a "New!" copy of the Suberbit Vampires DVD. I own one of those surround sound 5.1 speaker sets so the sound you get from the DTS soundtrack on the superbit DVD's is simply amazing

Today I received my DVD but however what i received was a used copy of the plain vampires DVD. which i honestly could have bought for £2 from my local blockbuster video. And to make matters worse in order to get any sort of refund from amazon i have to wait to make a claim until the 15 March 2005.

I have ordered quite a bit from amazon.co.uk marketplace this is the first setback ive had and it will definitely make me wary of ordering anything from there again...

    Thanks
    Anthony

I am not sure why myself?

That ought to give them just enough time to pack up and get out of town.

LOL!! I think you may be right, BJ!! Isn't there some one else at Amazon you can get in touch with? Sounds pretty slipshod and sneaky to me!

Can you get in any trouble for doing so?

Not when it's under dispute as it would be here - the product was not the same as advertised.

This is the standard situation when you purchase an item through Amazon marketplace - which is made up of independent vendors operating through Amazons website. Amazon collects payment, but everything else is handled by the marketplace vendor.

I assume they have the somewhat long timeframe on this since the general problem is mishandled shipments and so on. What you should do right now (trust me - I've gone down this road before so I know the questions Amazon will ask later on) is to contact the marketplace merchant that you dealt with, provide the order number and details, and explain what has arrived vs. what was actually ordered and paid for. Give them the opportunity to make it right, all costs naturally being borne by them. If they decline or dispute the chain of events, approach Amazon directly.

There should exist a government hotline for cheat vendors...
