    Thanks for ESET SS.

My normal procedure for updating ESET is as follows:
    1. download the new upgrade.
    2. Disconnect the computer from the internet.
    3. uninnstall ESET
    4. install the download from ESET
here it fails because I am disconnected from the
internet. If I reconnect then I am exposed to hundreds
of viruses while installing ESET SS 5. AM I CORRECT??
    5. Forced to connect to the internet with NO virus
    protection.
    6. run the live install. Takes about 5 minutes. Plenty of
time for the idiots to play havoc on my computer.

    Another item:
I thought ESET SS was up to 5.095
What I got was 5.094.0. I must be mistaken

    Nice interface

    See http://www.eset.com/download/home/detail/family/5/
Choose offline installer (Edit: at step 1)
Select OS and language then download
Proceed as you have in the past. (Edit: ie with out the need to connect during the install process)

    Thanks for replying.
I don't think the suggestions solve my problem.
    Maybe I read incorrectly.
The live installer that I use requires that I am connected
to the internet without any protection. Any offline installer
will still have to connect to the internet.
    Am I wrong??

you can download the offline installer when the older version of eset is still installed and then disconnect from the internet until the new version is fully installed.

You do not have to be connected to the Internet to run this process.
Download the ESS Installer and go offline as you indicated as one should do for achieving what you asked.

    Thanks everyone for your help.
I downloaded the offline installer and it worked fine.

This means that I will have to redownload this installer
every time that ESET comes up with an upgrade. Right?
ALSO - I copyed the installer to a CD and took it to my
wife's computer and tried to copy to a file and it balked.
Had to download the installer again on her computer to
get it to work. Then it wanted me to Activate the program.
This also caused trouble as I had already Activated it on
my puter. Web Site is a bit confusing on this subject.
I powered off her puter and powered it back on and
    everything seemed to be ok

    Hello,

The direct download links I supplied above are two the full "offline" packages. Once downloaded, you can use those to install the software on the computers for which you have licensed the software.

Once the software is installed, you will have an option within the program to check for updated versions.

When installing multiple PCs with the home edition, after you have activated the first copy, you just need to enter the username and password you received in the other copies.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
