Unfortunately, it is not possible because OAuth support is missing.

K-9 has stuck years ago. FairMail as is succeeding product, not mine. (current) thunderbird for android is NOT mozilla and questionable. TypeMail, AquaMail and others - depending... Thunderbird i would appreciate that much. K-9 based on gecko would be a very impressing client.

OAuth2 is mandatory for Outlook.com and Gmail, there is nothing wrong for it because Gmail is part of your (whole) google account and outlook com part of your MS account. thus it is not only "privacy", it is REAL security. and this is far apart from "privacy", sorry, but you're so wrong.

ofc you can use an android phone without google (or change completely to apple), but you have to deal with its limitations and thus its lacking security concerning apps.

apparently you got it all wrong. i'm one of those "privacy freaks" who want to use k-9 but cannot do so because it doesn't support 0auth2.

Did you notice the comments under the Ghacks article
    https://www.ghacks.net/2022/06/13/k-9-mail-app-will-become-thunderbirds-android-email-client/

    Martin Brinkman posted..
''Missing OAuth support is already ready, a new version is just waiting for Google’s approval according to the lead developer.''

And today this has been posted in the comments..
