Missing DL32 after install reboot

    After installation and reboot, windows canno start because the following file is missing or corrupt: (WIndows Root)/system 32/hal.dll., please reinstall a copy of the above file

    can anyone help?

    It might be that your boot.ini is now pointing to a non existant boot files.

    Do you have your XP CD to hand ?

    If so, the first thing you can try is to bung the CD in, boot and choose console mode, from here log on to your installation and then type in bootcfg /rebuild .
