Migrate Easy changed HDD capacity

I ran Migrate Easy 7.0 to clone my existing 100gb HD to a new 250gb HD (both SATA laptop drives). I had the new drive connected to the laptop via USB SATA adapter. Ran the clone using Automatic mode with Proportional moving method. The cloning process ran successfully, but when I booted from the new drive, Windows blue-screened. Therefore, I decided to try the clone process again, but now Windows thinks the new drive is only 100gb in total capacity (should be 250gb). I have deleted all partitions, but still only shows 100gb of unpartitioned space. I have connected it to multiple PC's with the same results. It also shows up as the incorrect size in BIOS!

Has Acronis somehow changed the firmware of the drive to change the capacity of the drive? What am I missing here? Any help would be much appreciated.
