Yep, good news, but price will be the deciding factor for me. Also means that the RC, if used, will only really be good for another 4 months or so and then the real deal will be out. I was debating using the RC, but now I think I will just stick with XPx64 till 7 is out and the prices are established.

Yep, I know, thanks... Actually, the RC will begin shutting itself down every 2 hours starting March 1st, so you can cut 3 months off that June date. I was mostly thinking that there are only 4 months or so till the final is out. But yes, the RC will continue to run till March 1, then another 3 months of shutting down every 2 hours, which I don't think anyone will want to live with. :)

    Per the MS site: http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/windows-7/download.aspx

Confirmed: Windows 7 Launches October 22
    Nick Mediati, PC World

It's official: Windows 7 will make its debut on October 22. Microsoft confirmed the late-October launch date with PC World, details of which leaked out earlier today.

Windows 7 development should finish up in July, at which time it will be released to manufacturing. The October 22 date will be a full retail rollout, although pricing has yet to be announced.

Pity there is no mention of a price range, the most important factor IMO.
