Despite the delay both Adobe and Secuni PSI report that my Flash ActiveX player on Windows 10 (included in IE11/Edge) is 24.0.0.194 which is out-of-date, because it should be 24.0.0.221.

The Adobe Flash stand-alone installer cannot upgrade this. Now what? (Wait until March 14?)

If it is coming from MS, it seems to be so. I checked Chrome on my system and they have updated it to 24.0.0.221 already. Updating IE11 and Edge will depend on WU - however long it takes them to fix 'the bug'.

No I just set HIPS in smart mode and didn't create any custom rules.
Right now I'm testing "regular user" kind of security setup :)

The reason for the delay is all speculation, no matter the source. I understand the curiosity though.

The March 2017 Preview is supposed to come out Feb 21. If it comes out.

    Help!!!

I am confused (more confused than usual even.)

Was there a major Win 10 Update today?

I left my PC running while I made a new backup. Set the backup to shut down my PC when it was finished.

Two hours later I started my PC and was surprised to see the type of greeting you get when you first install Windows -- a black screen with "Hi."

Then a screen saying "We have updated your PC to make it more secure." followed by a series of blue and black screens: "We have updated your PC">"Getting things ready please don't turn off your PC."

These screens have been cycling in a repetitive loop now for more than one hour (typing on a tablet atm.)

    Is this right?

    Please advise.

Only update I had today was Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, went fine. Maybe your backup messed something up.

    Hi digmor :)

I was afraid of that, but really don't get why the back up messed things up apparently so badly.

I am set for auto updates and now assume that the update at least downloaded while my PC was running but got shut down during the download or install.

Dunno what the best course of action is now -- whether to restart or wait more and restart as the ultimate last resort.
