I know whenever I run an Office program, this process will start. I assume it has to do with piracy. However, once I quit an Office program, the process (OSPPVC.EXE) is still running. What exactly is it doing? Should I keep ending it when I'm done with Office, or am I being paranoid?

I vaguely recall that this is Microsoft's online debugging system for Office. It works with the diagnostics tool.

    Yes, anyone?

I wouldn't worry about it. Microsoft knows everything about you, anyway ;)

It's not an anti-piracy tool, but it only works after activation.

Ah, I was wrong. It's apparently the process to verify Office 2010 activation status. From the answers link:

Is it really that much of a resource hog?

That may be valid for Google but not for Microsoft.
