It's not only sinister, it is a sickening level of hypocrisy when what they seek to protect is the biggest propaganda and lies machine the world has ever seen, AKA the mainstream news media.
Totally pwned ever since the 1996 telecommunications act removed regulations that prevented the monopolization of the news media by the 1%.
Today the mainstream news is exactly that, a monopolized cesspool of lies, cover ups, censorship and blatant propaganda used to attack, discredit and demonize any one or any nation that dissents and all they want now is to stop the internet interfering with their design to exercise total control over what the masses are told, what they think and what they believe so they can continue with their plans for global domination, inflicting chaos and genocide on any that oppose their ideology or agenda while their news media tells the masses to wave their flags and be proud because they are the good guys.
