Not true. Windows 8.1 IMHO is THE BEST personal computer user experience for many even despite Windows 10. The same may even be said for those long running Windows 7 user's but I never own nor operated a 7. Those user's have been diehards though.

One nagging aspect of 10 that 8.1 doesn't ever have to be bothered with is that Telemetry interference from Micro.

the issue is that win7 and 8.1 got same telemetry patches as windows 10 as MS saw that it works for win 10 ;) nevertheless i still us 8.1 as my productive os - but i changes more and more to 10 now.

what i read in the shorter past that ms kick users now with major changes like this one. they reduce compatibility to 1D a year before 8.1 run eol. similar for Office and some more. regular user is forced to go 365 products or buy expensive pro. i got rid of all ms products after 2003 for my private needs - other are similar and cheaper and have better support. for work i dont have a choice, but thats not my matter to get along with it, there is an admin working.

pitty but win8.1 has less than 4 per cent of all windows while win 10 is the current winner. win11 rising, but with a lot of bugs. listen man, each windows is really usable after the second big patch, eg. xp sp2, vista sp2, win7 sp2 - win11 maybe end of 2022 ^^
