https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...illing-cortana-on-windows-starting-late-2023/ That voice 'Hi I'm here to help' when you install an OS is the first thing I turn off.
I've used that feature twice at most and I install Windows on different PCs multiple times a week. I've never used Cortana after installing Windows.
It was renamed, not killed, it is The Search after all, but MS will say anything to make concerned users happy.
It was the first thing I'd turn off after install. And with not planning to move to Win11 I'm hoping to avoid Copilot (or whatever it will be called). Funny, for those who grew up with Star Trek, Star Wars, the Jetsons, Knight Rider, Transformers, and similar, as kids we thought being able to talk to your car/ship/R2 unit was super cool ... and here we are at the dawn of the technology in real life and we're turning these services off.
True, but to be fair, I tried it out, when it actually started back in Vista or so, but by the time I said the command and Windows performed it, I could have done it 5 times using the mouse. A proper dictating is even slower than typing.
