Microsoft Activesynch 4.5 seems to be blocked by firewall

    Hi,

    I'm uisng ESET SS 3.0.621.0

    Ive just bought a new mobile phone/pda which uses Microsoft Activesynch 4.5.

    No matter what Ive tried the phone cannot connect to the PC via USB therefore I cannot synch my Outlook data.

    Does anyone have info on how to manully configure the firewall rules to allow Activesynch to function?

    put the firewall in "interactive" mode and then plug in your mobile. It will then prompt you as AS tries to connect with the mobile. Allow and save your decesion.... I have WMDC v6.1 working on my PC and as long as the firewall is in interactive mode and you allow/save, it works great. So does the xbox for that matter....

    Does installing the latest version 3.0.642 make a difference?
