I already tried the discount and it said it didn't recognize it. Somebody forgot to hit the switch.

    Hmm. very tempting.

Can someone briefly explain the online banking mode? How does that work? New banks are formed all the time. There are small Credit Unions and Credit Card banks and all kinds of institutions. How does it know? o_O

Banking mode is deceptively simple - what it does is prevent connecting to "non-whitelisted" IP addresses while engaged.

There are two ways that this list is populated; the first is our small (but growing) central whitelist. the second is user-supplied sites in "my websites" - mark as trusted or protected, and these sites will be allowed whilst in Online Banking mode.

Once configured correctly, the idea is that you cannot be decieved in going to a false banking site by some kind of phishing email, provided that you have the discipline of "select banking mode" - do banking.
