Mcafee tech preview

    In av comparitives, feburary, all the individual test reports are coming out, except McAfee Technology Preview, any people know why? o_O

    because mcafee is not yet ready and the final name for the technology is also not yet decided.

    Interesting technology. I'm not entirely comfortable that it uses an internet connection and communicate with a central server, but it does show efficiency in detection rate.

    I guess a developer might get alot of false positive though as the exe he creates are never in the whitelist database

    the exe will also not be on the mcafee server, so this case would not end in a FP.

    There is a link in the report where you can go to register for the beta. But even with registration, it doesn't seem that you automatically get into the beta though.

    My bad, I was under the impression that there was some kind of heuristic applied too, but from reading the Mcafee website it cleared that up.

    i found mcafee virusscan with engine 5300 ? it include artemis technologie

    no, you need the extra.dat which activates it. if you get one, it will work also with e.g. the 5200 engine.

    Interesting ( although i was hoping for something much more powerful ) i think the FP will be too high for normal users. I think it will work much better in cooperate enviorment where little changes to system are made.
