Re: Hitman Pro Support and Discussion Thread

I am using 4.2.71.2, signature database updates regularly.

Still can't get MBAM to update after a reinstall and resetting router. Ran a scan last night w/an outdated signature base (28 days). Itfound a ton of stuff including in registry keys - this after running ESET, TDSSkiller, HMP.

Machine seems to be running better since I ran MBAM, although MBAM still won't update. From what I read on their Forum it's gonna take a bit of work to fix this problem if resetting router doesn't work - which it didn't.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll send the MBAM log to ESET along with a report of earlier problem identified by HMP and resolved by TDSS.

Re: Hitman Pro Support and Discussion Thread

Thanks for that link. My network won't allow access to manual update site. I'll try my son's computer later and see if I can get through on his. Internet is set to auto IP and auto DNS, MBAM included in allowed exceptions in Firewall. Malware probably screwed something up somewhere, or I'll have to call ISP provider. I could spend my whole life messing around with this stuff.:(

Do you know if the machine is clean or still infected? You can also try running Vipre Rescue, if you think you are still infected and see if it helps. Here is the link: http://vipre.malwarebytes.org/

Maybe a moderator can move the MalwareBytes stuff to a different thread as this thread is about Hitman Pro. Thanks!

issue is your infection - NOT mbam. focus on that.

save all important data, set up windows from scratch (or use proper image),
change all passwords, call your bank if you use online banking.

    ^+1 .
Writing only 'plus one' makes for a very lousy post but I wholehartedly agree.
Stop losing time and creating aggravation over a system that's been thoroughly infected.
Take your loss, backup important data, full format and reinstall.
And while you're reinstalling+updating the OS and progs, read-up on how to make an image when you're finished.
If you'll ever have trouble again in the future, you can put back the image in 15-20 minutes, have a tea and again do fun/important things with your time.
