Considering that unless you're trying to install software from outside of the Play Store & F-Droid, antivirus on Android is largely useless, and the fact that anyone who knows Android knows that Cheetah Mobile products are basically malware themselves... I put little to no faith in this test, at all.

I'm a long time Android user and I disagree. I don't use any of their products at the moment as my phone already includes its own antivirus. Also, in four years of using Android and installing many apps from numberous different 3rd party play stores, as well as sideloading apps, I've never got infected.

You don't need AV if you're sticking to the play store, it has its own AV built in.

Recommending people stick to the play store here on Wilders is pointless because Wilders users are not the general population. In other places on the internet, yeah, recommend people stick to the play store.

So you're disagreeing with... what, exactly? The fact that Cheetah Mobile is almost universally hated by anyone who knows Android?

Do a quick run around XDA-Developers, or even put up a thread asking about Cheetah Mobile. They're an ***** awful company.

I've used their products and liked them. If other's don't like them, that's up to them.

I have not used any of their products for some time now as my phone manufacturer already includes an antivirus/cleaning app as part of their customised version of Android.

I was going to give Ikarus a try, but it's nowhere to be found in Google Play.

It's only just been removed. It was up two days ago according to Google. At the moment, it looks like you can only download the Japanese version.

A good av will also protect against phishing and will scan files that are downloaded with the browser. And as for those Play Store apps, be careful:
