Got it from the Maxthon pop up when I booted up this morning. Thanks.

Apparently they've improved the adblocker and there is a PDF plug-in.

Is there no way to use ABP or something similar?

I don't think so. There are some user scripts on the Mx site somewhere. I opened Photobucket in Mx just and was pleasantly surprised at how many it caught. I'm normally on my guard there even with Firefox, NoScript and ABP/ABE!

I guess I will have to try it out and see how the built-in adblocker works...

It is improving, I've never been too sure how to add new rules to it, and I wish they would bring the content blocker back. They claim this will indeed be added back at some point.

Regarding the AdHunter I noticed that although it was enabled the "subscribe to AdHunter rules" was not by default.

Yes, that is the default I believe. Not sure why, but in the past there were a lot of user rule-lists compiled and it might be a throwback to when that was the only real option.
