    Hi,
I am trying to increase the partition size of C:\ from 23,02 GB tp 40 GB. There is enough space in a free partation on the same disk.
However DD 10 does not allow to increase the size. (It says minimum size 23,02 maximum size 23,02 GB).
I also tried from the rescue disk. It does not allow me to select the free partition to take space from it and add it to the C partition.

Any recommendations what I could do?

I am running MS Vista Ultimate (latest patches installed)
Disk Director 10 Build 2.161 (Vista released).
    Harddisk Size 111,8 GB
    Partitions: C: 23.02, Free 80 GB, unassigned 8,771 GB

    Best regards,
    Martin

    Martin,

This is what I would try. First, if you haven't already, I would make a backup image of Disk #1 so you could restore it if necessary.

Resize the K: partition to use the 8GB of unallocated space at the end of the drive. Apply the changes.
    [C: 23GB][K: 88.7GB]

Then Resize the K: partition again, this time moving the left side toward the right to make the partition smaller, leaving about 20GB of unallocated space between the C: partition and the K: partition. Apply the changes.
    [C: 23GB][unallocated 20GB][K: 68.7GB]

Now you need to resize the Vista partition. Personally, I would try to resize the Vista partition using Vista's disk management before using DD on it. The choice is yours, however. In any case, unless something is wrong with the C: partition, you should be able to resize it using either Vista's Disk Management or DD to use the additional unallocated space.
    [C: 43GB][K: 68.7GB]
