    Hi

Have a problem. Maybe someone out there can help me.

I have just 'deloused' my brothers computer of spyware and virus'. All programs, save one, say that I have removed them all. However SpyFerret is still telling me that I have problems, in particular Marketscore.

I have run several different programs, and done numerous check, but I have come up with nothing. I have been to PestPatrols website and done manual checks for the files and registry keys it lists for it, some of which I found and deleted, yet the problem still remains. o_O

According to SpyFerret, there is still two registry keys and 1 .dll to be deleted

    Any help would be useful

    Cheers

    Let's have a closer look:

Go to https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=12516, and download Hijack This.

Unzip to a folder other than your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please show us its contents.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

    Hi Tony

Thanks for the reply. Before you read the Hijack file, I should mention that I've used Sybot S&D since, and that it has removed the .dll file and 1 of the keys. The remaining Marketscore key is a registry modifier

    Anyway here's the log

It's practically a clean log; only one dialer to have HT fix:

Do you have more information on that remaining Marketscore reg key? If SpyBot won't, we could probably remove it manually.

A copy of the SB log would help.

These entries came from the Spybot check

MarketScore: Shared DLL (1 apps) (Registry value, nothing done)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\nsconfig.dll

MarketScore: Module usage (Registry key, nothing done)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ModuleUsage\C:/WINDOWS/Downloaded Program Files/nsconfig.dll

Its interesting to note that, apart from Spy Ferret, none of the others had picked up on these two or the elusive third

    Cheers

First, would you please send copies of the following files to submit_stuffATxs4all.nl for analysis? (replace 'AT' by @)

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\SWin32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\automove.exe (if still there)

We know they're baddies, but we would still like to have a closer look at them!
We'd also want to forward copies to the developers of Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D, and others in the secury field.
    Much appreciated :)

NOTE: To avoid the risk of any of the above not being found due to them having the 'Hidden' attribute, first make sure that in Folder Options > View hidden and operating system files are set to show.

After sending us the files, check, and have Hijack This fix the following items:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
