    HI, is it possible to delete a part of a range of different backups from the backup capsule, instead of the whole content of the bu capsule?

    Thanks in advance.

    So I would, well said, one or two backuped contents remove from the backupcapsule, instead of the entire content. Is this possible, and how it works? o_O

    I am not 100% sure but I think you can now delete certain images in the Backup Capsule with Volume Explorer. I used the Linux Recovery CD to explore the Backup Capsule contents and delete the images I no longer wanted, but you have to be careful you pick the correct images to delete. Also download the manual if you do not have it and look for "Using the Archive Database".

    Thank you for your explanation. In the archive database maybe I can a part of the BU capsule delete. It looks as if part of the image is removed, buth it isn't so, because the value from the BU capsule is the same as before. :doubt:

    If I can remember correctly, if you delete an image from the archive database, the image is still in the backup capsule. You just deleted a pointer to it. If you right click on the image in the folder view window to the right, can you delete it? See this image. If not, try the Linux Recovery CD and see if you can delete them with that.

    ward,

    What paragon product do you use?

    You can delete files from BC via:
    * File Transfer wizard in all Paragon products
    Note: Diff backups will be places to DIFF folders.
    * Archives tab from all products except System backup
    Note: you should mark 'Delete archive files from disk' option when you delete archives physically
    * Restore or Manage snapshots option in System Backup

    tgell,
    what I saw, so you confirmed, it don't works with the archive and with the folder view window to the right, also it doesn't works. Your solution with the linux recovery cd is an excellent opportunity.

    Mech_An,
    Your solution is, I think, also an excellent system.

    Thank you both, I am well helped. :)

    Mech_An, if I delete an diff archive like the way you explain (mark the archive file from disk) it is so that the content of the BU cap. remains the same as before :doubt:

    Diff archives are usually quite small. Maybe it is the reason.

    Please make sure that archives were deleted:
    * In Volume Explorer find the appropriate DIFF archive folder and make sure that it is empty

    1) Please delete diff as follows:
    * Run File Transfer wizard from Tools
    * Navigate to DIFF fodler
    * Select *.PBF file and click red X to delete file.
    * Confirm the operation.

    2) Yes, you can schedule DIFF backup with un-checked 'generate unique names' option. Then diff will be overwritten each time.
    OR you can use Cyclic backup wizard from Wizards - Backup Utilities, which allows to create scheduled task and set how many diff archives to keep. All older diff's will be overwritten.
