I have been using WinPatrol Plus for a number of years but just found Mamutu and I wasn wondering. Is Mamutu pretty much the same as WinPatrol Plus - is there any point in considering it.
Alternatively, is there another program better than both of these. I don't want to be bombarded with popups every time I open a program.

I am using a firewall (PCTools 5 on expert setting) and AVIRA

Quick answer to the last part of your query...Prevx 3 (or Edge, as it is also known). Huge thread about it in this forum.

Winpatrol is a great program, but I don't think of it as my first line of defense against zero-day attacks. Mamutu is a behavior blocker that intercepts suspicious activity without relying on signatures. It is quite smart and doesn't produce many popups. I would use Mamutu in addition to Winpatrol Plus.
