Turning Off in Settings>Application>Notifications>Show Malwarebytes notifications in the Windows System Tray will stop ALL notifications, but MB will still block.

    No problems with v3.3.1.

I got two downloads today at 83MB each - anybody else see this?

Pretty large for defs and I already had (3.2.2.2029, 10212, 103169) installed.

I noticed in the update log file that the delta updates are failing.
This morning I noticed a trouble ticket has been opened - others are seeing the same problem.

BTW: The GUI shows that the updates are current. Because of this you would not know that the updates are failing.

Same thing happened Oct 25th (approx) & when I questioned on their forum they acknowledged it but said it was fixed and seemed to be but I switched to manual updating.
They should provide information about the large update before downloading it so that for users with multiple PCs, they can download the full install file once and use it to update the other PCs. I posted about this as well on their forum.

    MB 3.3.1

Primary machine upgraded via updater, but second machine neither that or Ninite update would work. Had to clean install.

I'd turned OFF auto-check for updates on Nov 3rd because MB'd been downloading complete db files (in error) and when I manually checked just now, Nov 5th, and 58.39mb was downloaded.
This indicates an inability to incrementally update if we wait "too long" between updates, i.e. from 3151 to 3178 and therefore they download "everything". (It must be "everything" because a complete install file is only 75mb.)
So I'm turning ON auto-check for updates, run every 6 hours, in the hope that this will give smaller, incremental, updates (unless they screw up again and always download full dbs.)
    A few days should tell.

I have given up on Malwarebytes. I haven't bothered to log in at their forum in ages.

P.S. When was the last time RubberDucky visited/posted here?

Thanks, anon. So, 12 months ago! I guess they no longer need Wilders' Security these days? In the early days this was where I discovered the software.

Is it just me? After a year or so, and a few program updates, MBAM pro still randomly closes real-time protection modules, refuses to accept switching them back on, then a week later they're back on again? Then the random warnings that updates aren't current, though it's set to update auto.

Not exactly that, but I do find switching modules on and off very sluggish, and update detection unpredictable.

I have found in the last couple months that it is very stable and functioning properly. But taking 10 months since the introduction of 3.x to get there has not restored my confidence in the program I had with MBAM 2.x. It is getting there, but not sure it will ever be fully restored - especially if they have any more major setbacks.

MB 3 has reverted to the free version on two of my machines in as many weeks. Good thing I wasn't relying on MB to protect my machines because I would not have known had I not open MB as the tray icon showed no problem. :thumbd:

Since MB has tested terribly in AV tests lately I doubt I'm losing any security by disabling all protection and disabling MB starting with Windows. Instead I am gaining system performance improvements. :thumb:

My Pro license is still active on my computer. However, I always have the protection modules disabled.

It is working well for me. But, every time I install a new version, it enables all of the protection modules, so I have to disable them all.

I've used mb-clean to uninstall / reinstall MB on all three of my machines and will see what happens. I probably will still disable real-time protection though as it hasn't really done much to protect me ever since I first installed the Pro version of MBAM 1.x, just before MBAM 2.x was publicly released.
