    Hi J_L,

Do you have Scan for rootkits enabled on your threat scans?

It's enabled in "Detection and Protection" settings.

What about in Automated Scheduling > Threat Scan > Edit > Advanced?

I believe having it enabled in Detection and Protection doesn't automatically scan for rootlits on scheduled scans.

    Krusty,

Only thing i can say is have you setup exclusions between norton and mbam?

Other than that i would suggest you work with our support department to see why it may be slower for you. This version fixed issues for a lot of people by other feedback we have been getting.

Hyper scan appears to be only available in the paid version. If you read my post I said I would like this type option in the FREE version.

    Always,

I can think of all kinds of things that I'd rather not have to pay for....

"Only thing i can say is have you setup exclusions between norton and mbam?"

This has never been needed on my machines since I installed the first release of mbam 2 and my scan times only increased after installing 2.03.

"Other than that i would suggest you work with our support department..."

    Ha! No thanks. :isay:

I guess I will have to put up with slow scans - Oh well!

It would be nice to know why on your machine but i can understand if you dont have the time to follow my suggestions. I assure you this is definately not the norm with all the positive feedback we have been getting on 2.03.

    @Victek - hi there
I also see the following in your signature

"WSA, MBAM Pro, Comodo v7 FW, HitmanPro Alert"

Just out of curiosity.. wonder, are they running simultaneously?
    Are there no conflicts?
I am running Norton IS 2014 + MBAM Premium.
They work fine together, but nonetheless in both applications 'exception-rules' have been created, like
    NIS
-> Settings -> Computer -> Antivirus and Sonar exclusions -> Items to Exclude from auto-protect..etc.
    \Malwares Anit-Malware folder
and in MBAM to exclude the Norton IS folder.

    Thanks!

Yes I have them all running simultaneously. Webroot SecureAnywhere, MBAM Pro and the Comodo firewall all get along without problems. I have had some issues with HitmanPro Alert, but that is to be expected since I'm running a beta version.

Thanks! Wonder, I am running NIS 2014 + MBAM Premium - frankly, I assume this is fairly secure.
I am not saying you have made the wrong choice, don't get me wrong, but just like to know if Hitman Pro
is offering additional security over MBAM Pro.
    I am not an expert.
Maybe NIS/MBAM are constantly running, whilst Hitman Pro should be launched separately for an extra check, or so?
(The guy at Youtube PC Security Channel also is using Hitman Pro)

Until they can get a clue that the scan times are now to slow for the liking I'll be using Super Antispyware and to heck with Malwarebytes.

Upgrade to Norton 2015, and it's even more secure. But yes your combination should be almost bulletproof.

Noticed that the MBAM forum has been down for a few hours now.

    Hello to All:

The Malwarebytes' forum was taken down to rebuild the IP.Board software engine in an effort to correct a problem seen while members were trying to create their posts.

That original problem has been corrected and the forum is back on-line.

    Thank you.

Would like to keep this running on my computer but, notifications about not being protected (just want IP blocks to work) is driving me nuts.
Notifications re turned off, but every time restarting a notification pop's-up (you are not fully protected).
I will leave this program until fixed.

    version 2.0.3.1025

This was a huge problem when the new version first came out but lately it seems like it is happening less frequently according to the MBAM forums, did it to me a couple times but hasn't happened for awhile. Are you using the latest version 2.0.3.1025?

  22. Why does not MBAM offer the option to NOT install the IP-blocker.

After a system restore IP-blocker would be turned off and it was not possible to switch it on again.

Chrome and Internet Explorer have great build in IP-blockers, so why bother spending manpower and resources on a me-too product? Why not turn IP-blocker into a NOP-sniffer and packed script detector. Packed and NOP is a near guarantee a script is exploit related. So when MBAM IP-sniffer notices this, MBAE steps to next level of alert (more restrictive monitoring)?

The MBAM forum downtime was apparently due to the forum server being compromised

When a security related company uses a server that is known for frequent vulnerabilities one could not but wonder are they really as good as the claim to be or is that just hype? I have been very disappointed with Malwarebytes of late and hope they can get back to what they once were. The age old if it ain't broke don't fix it applies.

When I do a contextmenu scan of a single, small file and MBAM is already running and updated, it still needs almost 30 seconds for Initializing scan, the scan itself is then done within a second, the GUI becomes unresponsive, after a while it shows the scan completed screen, but then it still remains unresponsive for longer than a minute. The machine is not very new, but I'm using an SSD and it still has a 2GHz dual-core and 4GB RAM, so that's weird.
