Malware testing

    i am a bit confused again. I am testing a malware package using two different AV's at separate times.
    I for now am just running a scan on the files. Both of the AV's are detecting all but 8 files with current deffs. But when I upload the files to Virus Total all 8 are detected by both AV's. What am I missing here?
    Only VS detects them as bad by looking at VT's ranking. All 8 files get hits from at least 25 to 30 AV's.
    Guess I am wondering what Virustotal is running compared to what I have installed?
