Malware Research Group started conducting quick tests, using a single zero day / early life malware samples in Q3 of this year. When we started publishing these flash tests, we stated that as individual tests, they were not presented as efficacy assessments of the security applications being tested, but would serve to give some representation of performance when looked at over time.

In this report, we have collated all the flash test data for 2010 and presented in a form which will allow the overall performance of the security applications tested to be viewed and compared.

We have used only the most prolific and relevant malware samples in the flash tests. In the real world, these samples infect millions of PCs and its vital that users have protection against these.

Caveat: Small number of samples and DefenseWall wasn't tested against all samples.
