Does anyone use MH, and if so does it offer anything unique?

I used when it first came out and there's nothing unique or remarkable about it. Since then there have been no major improvements. It continues to receive only very minor fixes and improvements. It's just another very basic antivirus with Avira signatures.

When I was using the Pro version, it was not detecting some threats that Avira itself did. When I scanned some files with another scanner, Malware Hunter's real-time protection detected some threats it has missed when I had scanned the same folder with it. So, it's not a very reliable product.

While it originally used Avira's, for some time now they have used their own cloud engine, which has terrible detection rates. It's not even worth using the free version (which lacks real-time protection) as a second opinion scanner.

Yup. Any AV company using a big name engine has to be licensed to run it in their AV product.

The startups rely on their own in house AV engines.

I noticed... the Chinese are derivative and the design of every software product from them feels familiar. Although the GUI is beautifully done.
