Malware and spyware problem

I have an HP desktop and I think i may have to format . but just incase i will try here first.

1.)I have a little window that comes up once in awhile and says that my system is low on memory and a 5 second beep comes from the tower, i can either cancel or cloes all programs.

2.)I have Ad-Aware on it now but it only solves these problems for a bit. I cannot install any other repair programs it seems, even when i disable ad-aware. also AA will not updte, says to check my connection :S

like i said, gambling for a easy solution. Thanks for any help on the subject.

Looks like everythings right in that department. its just a window that pops up in the middle of the screen and a 5 second beep that comes from the tower. I'm sure it has to do with a virus or worm inthere somewhere.
