The AOL Hosted ad-delivery network [advertising.com] is largely blocked by the MVPS Hosts file and other ad-blocking lists those use at Browser level. This does not preclude thinking before you click, at all times. The original report by the security firm that initially reported the issue. http://www.cyphort.com/huffingtonpost-serving-malware/
Adblockers people..... http://www.reviewjournal.com/life/t...huffington-post-other-sites-malware-laced-ads
Windows is hunted, because all of the targets are Windows. If another OS was popular, they'd get their own stack of malware/exploits/malvertising. I promise you that!
LOL - That site is the only one I know of that has more trackers blocked by Ghostery (19) than the Huffington Post (15)
With just five lists enabled I managed to get µBlock to block 57 items on http://www.reviewjournal.com/life/t...huffington-post-other-sites-malware-laced-ads After every so often it would block one more and may have blocked more if I had stayed on the page. The page was playing videos and I let it play two (I closed the page before the second one finished).
29 with every database enabled in uBlock - including the auxiliary host files.. However I am being a $10,000.00 security appliance, so I suspect 'crap' is blocked by that. Also Trend Worry Free Business w/enhanced database in front of it.
