make media player default

    Would like to make media player default player.Media center keeps opening.Can i get rid of media center without creating a problem? Can't find it in add & remove. Thanks

    Open Media Player, go to Tools|Options|File Types

    and check the filetypes you want Media Player to run. Media Player should then run those filetypes by default.

    Thanks rich. But there is no tools . Only play,rip, burn,etc

    Search your menu for Preferences, Options - somewhere there is a place to tell Windows Media Player which files to run.

    OK Rich I Got it. Thanks. First drop down arrow on right,brings up options
