    Next Generation Authentication
Someone needs to tell them that is not how you spell, Next Generation Surveillance.
All based on the false narrative that "making sure its really you using the phone" is going to protect your online accounts from hackers.
Online account hackers dont need anyone's phone.
This is about positively identifying everyone who accesses the internet with a mobile device, for surveillance purposes.

Haha, it's really like the worst tracking & surveillance system. They will say "your privacy is protected as we only store these info temporary and everything is done on automatic system, and we made every effort to further protect your privacy" etc. .:isay:

It's true in general password is broken. But password manager w/ 2FA gives sufficient security and their adoption seems to be gradually growing.

For cautious users sticking to best practices (unique passwords for different sites generated and stored in password manager) passwords are enough. If you have not been infected, your are safe.
For extra security one may use Yubikey.

Passwords could be a much more secure way of logging in to accounts than they are with some small changes using existing, commonly used technology, but that is not what they want. Our security is the least of their concerns because all they really want is our data, our web activity and our personal info with which to correlate them. They will use any emotive subject that can be conveniently used to coerce the public into accepting that be it hackers, terrorists, pedophiles, it doesnt matter, any or all will do.

Agreed. Well, but most ppl are not cautious. I could manage to persuade a friend to use password manager, but unfortunately couldn't persuade him not to use the same password for all sites. Even persuading him to secure his email with 2FA took quite long time.
