    Hi Eset.

Starting today I am experiencing a major slowdown on my computer. Startup and opening applications take years! I'm currently on ESS v4.2.64.12 with the latest signature update. I've tried scanning it but no threats found. Performing a disk cleanup gives no luck too. But when I disable ESS temporarily, everything is back to normal again.
Anyone has the same problem like mine?
I begin to loose faith on Eset.

    Thank you.

What do you mean by disabling ESS? Disabling real-time protection, firewall or something else?

I think my problem gets worse!
Starting today, opening Firefox is very slow among other applications now. And when I do a smart scan, ESS always gets stuck on this file : User/Application/Local/Mozilla/Firefox/.../startupCache/.../controller.js. Also suddenly my WiFi turns off and display adapter stops working.
When I view the scan log, it says error reading archive on that file.
Am I under attack by a malware here?

    Thank you.

Does excluding the folder ...%User%/Application/Local/Mozilla/Firefox (just for a test) make the issue go away?

I assume there's a reasonably large and complex html file that takes longer to scan. Please do the following:

    A.
1, download and run Process Monitor
    2, reproduce the problem
3, save the log and compress it
4, upload the compressed log somewhere and PM me the download link

B, Alternatively you can simply compress the content of the ...%User%/Application/Local/Mozilla/Firefox folder, upload it somewhere and PM me the download link.

Pardon me, but I thought it is a java script file (controller.js) and like I said before the file has an error reading archive message at the scan log. And with all due respect, what is the purpose of doing option A or B like you mentioned above?

    Thank you.
