    Hi Macroman,

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.couldnotfind.com/search_...count_id=138770
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.couldnotfind.com/search_...count_id=138770
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.couldnotfind.com/search_...count_id=138770
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = about:blank

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ClockSync] C:\Program Files\ClockSync\Sync.exe

    Then download and run CWShredder
Use the Fix button and follow the instructions provided by the program.

    Then reboot.

Nevertheless I have solved the problem now . I used a software called Regseeker ver 1.30 and it had an option to remove this.

Thanks a lot in any case I guess the treatment you prescribed also has helped me in removing this annoying xxxtoolbar process.

My computer contracted this in the first place when I went checking for a crack for sygate.

<asking for or offering cracks is not allowed on this board>

    Thanks,

    Macroman

    Hi MacroMan,

After cleaning the log the Uninstall entry in the registry was orphaned and safe to remove, so you did the right thing.

Sygate has a very nice free version if you are not willing/able to pay for it.
Looking for cr@cks will usually get you into more problems then solutions.

This will offer some more (free) protection:

Regards and be carefull out there,
