Hi, I'm evaluating Macrium Reflect 6 Home at the moment. So far I really like it (besides that it's not possible to get support as a pre sales guy - even the forum not). I use a standard account in Windows 8.1 for all work related stuff and an admin account for all the admin tasks with UAC set to high. - Macrium Reflect 6 is only installed for my admin account, so a scheduled task "backup at login" doesn't work for my standard account. Do I overlook something? - I want a batch file that start an backup when I double click it. It should also shutdown my computer after that (in other words I want that MR6 is doing a backup when I shut down the computer). It's easy to create with MR6, but I can't start it as a standard user. So I need to fill in a UAC prompt everytime. Is there a way that a standard user can start a MR6 batch file to start a Backup? I really don't want to type in my password for that everytime. Kind regards
On the scheduled task enable the option "Run whether user is logged on or not". https://social.technet.microsoft.co...when-the-option-run-whether?forum=winserverGP Panagiotis
And after creating the Task..... http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...ortcuts-without-uac-prompts-in-windows-vista/
Thanks for your help. I tried it. The problem with this solution is that "scheduled task" for all users starts programs invisible, so MR6 runs invisible and there is absolutely no hint for me in my standard user account if it does a backup at the moment or if it was successfull with the update. At the moment the only solution I can think of is working with an admin account again (which I don't want, I think the admin/user separation is very important) to have a usable backup system running. Hmm, there must be a possible solution for this. I really need to whitelist MR6 for normal users that they don't get a UAC promt when it starts.
