All in all, it's just another desktop in the environment. Or is it? In my latest OCS-Mag article, I explore Lumina, what it is and what it does, the look, the feel and the sex appeal. Or something. Take a look. http://www.ocsmag.com/2017/08/25/lumina-desktop-show-me-the-light/ Cheers, Mrk
It is available for other distributions in third party repositories. Bad news? Don't log into it on a GTK 3+ desktop because it won't. You can log into it from KDE and use its applications. Then again, I concur with your conclusion - why bother with a lightweight QT desktop? You already get everything from KDE without all the effort require to make it run as one wants. New desktops are usually a problem in search of a solution and the Linux world is too fragmented.
