Hmmm, the page loads, the player loads but no picture or sound. Must be ghosts or gremlins. :D

Downloading something that you don't know what it is. I wonder if it's got a payload? Now that's scary.

God only knows what the 'Payload' would have been if I had D/Ld it......all I did was click on the link, saw what was required, decided not, and guess what?... I suddenly find I have a QT Icon in my tray and four files in my Registry as well as other bits of debris which I have now dumped thro' Search and jv16.......why do these people do this sneaky infiltration trick is beyond me.......did anyone else get it.......

Quicktime is like a fungus to get rid of. I avoid it at all cost!

It's not a bad media viewer, but it is rather bossy. :D

If Quicktime is a fungus, what does that make RealMedia?

P.S. What do you use when you want to view streaming media and the like?

No offense to Quicktime users intended! :)

Real Player was one of the first programs I used years ago for streaming media.
If I remember correctly, Microsoft didn't have one at the time. Could be wrong.
Real Media took a wrong turn as far as I am concerned and it will not be on my machine again.

I have Media Player 10 and I also have a divx program that I use.

    Thanks Ronjor,

None taken, I don't like bloated invasive programs either. ;)
It's just that Quicktime seemed the lesser of two evils when you need to view streaming media compared to RealPlayer.
Can Media Player 10 now play all the .rm and .mov streaming formats too?
What do you think about the Quintessential Player?

    Sorry for going off topic!

Windows media player can't play .rm or.mov files.
It can most everything else including divx with the codec installed.

If I can't view it with Windows Media Player, I just pass.
I don't dabble with skins too much either. Room for foul play there.
I haven't tried Quintessential Player at this time.

I didnt find anything scaring looking at that trailer. Also I have no reason having anything against Quicktime, but maybe there are issues i dont know about. If so please let me know.
In general I do not like links that execute something.
    Regards,

    Gerard

I like simple clean programs that don't try to do everything.
It should just play all the standard video formats and not try to spy on me or spam me with ads.

    Thanks!

I have nothing against QT at all.
A few years ago, there was a problem with QT and Windows, and I decided then
    not not use QT again.
It simplifies my computer life. :)

Okay u guys - U got my knickers in a knot over Quicktime. I do not get any pop ups, spam or whatever - nada!! It tdid take over from WMP9 but then WMP was a hit & miss from time to time. I did not bother with WMP10 cuz there seemed to be some controversy over it. I think I shall sit in the middle of a freeway and weep. :'( :'( :'(

I've got quicktime and WMP 10.
The whole thing plays on my computer very smoothly, no interruptions.
