Maybe i've understood something wrong or maybe my install is broken, but:
Ive installed L'n'S (Windows sayed "no certificat") and done the settings like in the other thread written, but The Firewall dont asks for any program.

But normaly the Wall should ask in standard config, shouldnt it?
Everything can connect to the internet.

    Im sitting behint a router.
    Could this be the problem?

Thx for all your support and answers.

    stetha,

1.) Please check in "Options" of LNS, if the correct Network interface is auto-selected.
2.) Check, if both, Application filtering & Internet filtering are enabled (see mark on the right bottom of each window)
3.) Which ruleset are you using?
4.) Your router should take care of all incoming traffic. You can try a "ping" to some IP address, this should give you an entry in your log window....

    Thomas :)

    1.) Right network is selected.
    2.) The Fiters are enabled.
3.) Im using the EnhancedRulesSet, which comes with the Firewall.
4.) If i ping a website, L'n'S logs it correctly, but dont asks if its allowed...

Have i to check something in the "Advanced Rules"?

    so long, Stetha.

    Hi,

The internet filtering doesn't ask, only the Application does.

If you don't have a dialog box when an application connects and the Application Filtering list is empty, then you should try to install the 2.05p3:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=98973
which solves an issue like this.

    Regards,

    Frederic

    Yes, this version is stable.
Just don't enable the experimental features (through the .reg) to have it working like the 2.05p2 (but with bug fixes of course).

I've now installed this beta-version, but when i try to start it, there comes an error-message.

"Unable to load the Insfw driver (Error 0)."

Does someone know what this means and how to solve the problem?

    Hi,

The driver is not installed properly.
Did you uninstall/re-install several times ? or did you simply install the 2.05p2 once and the the 2.05p3 over the 2.05p2 ?

    What you can try:
    - uninstall Look 'n' Stop
    - reboot
    - verify all drivers are really uninstalled using the procedure described here:
    http://www.looknstop.com/En/faq_problems.htm#driver_remove
    - reinstall Look 'n' Stop.

The problem was, that some registry-entrys from outpost wasnt deleted fully.

So ive just used "RegSeeker" to delete.

Will no set up LnS with the tips in "Setup and Settings for Look ā€˜nā€™ Stop"
    and install a ruleset.

But which one should i install?
    phant0ms is sadly payware :(

    Hi Stetha :)

    1-
To clean all entries of Outpost in your registry you may use a script from Optimix : (I know that guy: it's JacK a security MVP and this script is not a malware...)

    http://babin.nelly.free.fr/kerio.htm

Look for opclean , download and run it.

2- May be LNS should be reinstall to be sure that everythings is okay...

3- Used the Enhanced rules set from LNS. It's a good FREE rule set for beginners

If you understand french you may use the climenole's rule set:
it's free with a Creative Common licence...
    http://climenole.wordpress.com/
Not yet in Eng. version because I'm too lazy... :-((((
(but it's for advanced users... )

    Hope this help.
    Let us know.

    :)

    Hi Thomas M :)

Thank you. There is some unclear explanations there and I'll fix this ASAP
before the english translation (and a version 2 for the rules)...

I'm working on Tor (The Onion Router) set up for W xp (and L'n'S).
The system is stable (more than expected) and the speed acceptable.
I've to fix some setup for applications such as GnuPG + Thunderbird,
40tude Dialog (and other NNTP/s clients) when used with ssl Nntp and so on.
(And all the DNS leaks problem... :-( )

So an english version of the articles and rules set v2 may be expected
    at the end of october(2006!).

    Have a nice day.

    :)
